THE AMBASSADOR

On Friday, 08 November 2013, His Excellency Mr. Tran Van Hinh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the S.R. of Viet Nam to the Kingdom of Sweden presented Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf in Stockholm.

Ambassador Tran Van Hinh was accredited by President Truong Tan Sang as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Latvia. On November 8, 2013, the Ambassador presented Letters of Credence to His Majesty The King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf.

Ambassador Tran Van Hinh is a career diplomat, and was accredited with the diplomatic title of Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the President in 2011. In over 30 years of his career, the Ambassador has served as: Deputy Director General, Directorate of State Protocol (2008-2013); Deputy Director of the Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-2003); Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Vietnam in Australia (2003-2007); Chargé d' affaires ad interim, Embassy of Vietnam in Australia (2005); Third Secretary, Embassy of Vietnam in Australia (1990-1993).

Ambassador Tran Van Hinh graduated from the University of Hanoi in 1978. Since then, he has attended post-graduate training courses at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (2010-2012), Syracuse University, United States (1999), Budapest University of Economics, Hungary (1981-1984), Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (1980-1981).

Ambassador Tran Van Hinh and his wife Madame Doan Thi Minh Tuyen have one son.
